Using Injet Printer on Juki KE-740 - 1/20/09 -
- Using Injet Printer on Juki KE-740 We have a Juki KE-740 I would like to use a HP-612 Inkjet printer instead of a dot matrix printer to print out the production info, is this possible, I don't see the option to load printer drivers on the menu, and the Inkjet doesn't print correctly. Am I stuck using a Dot Matrix or can I install a new printer port. Thanks for any help ...

Using Injet Printer on Juki KE-740 - 1/20/09 -
- Using Injet Printer on Juki KE-740 Those machines use DOS, so unless you can find DOS drivers for your printer, then I think you are stuck using Dot Matrix, which don't need special drivers in DOS. Plus, I believe those machine use a Japanese version of DOS, so US drivers may not work properly ...

Who Makes Good boards? - 7/16/08 -
- Who Makes Good boards? emti, Thank you for the reply but I'm looking for a reasonable quality pcb mfg. We do SMT and thru-hole in house (3 Juki KE-750L machines) of our product. My problem is with the bare boards: holes poorly registered with top copper, solder masks misregistered 0.2mm on 0.5mm pitch QFN package pads, shorted traces that couldn't have passed electrical but certified they did, copper swarf under the soldermask, etc. Boards that look like they were made by someone who just doesn ...

Need help on selecting the SMT equipment for small volume - 8/23/05 -
- Need help on selecting the SMT equipment for small volume I know this post is getting a bit old, but the Juki KE-2060 can do 0201 up to 74mm square (or up to 150mm long connectors) on their standard machine. You only need to purchase the 0201 nozzle and feeder. The machine is factory set to run 0201. And in our eval of the topaz versus 2060, the 2060 was running our boards faster ...

Low cost prototyping machines - 6/23/05 -
- Low cost prototyping machines I know we paid less than that for our Juki KE-2060 and it can run the whole gambit of components...0201, QFN, microBGA... What kind of footprint are you looking for on your "small" machine and what capabilities are you looking for? What kind of price-point are you expecting ...

New SMT line - Need equipment selection help - 5/27/05 -
- New SMT line - Need equipment selection help Look into the Juki KE-2060E machine. I have been extremely pleased with this machine. It will hold 80-8mm feeders, place 0201 (0603-metric) up to 74mm square ICs and BGA, 150mm long connectors. Up to 25mm tall components. It can handle up to 30 trays in their tray handler. MicroBGA are not a problem either. There hasn't been an odd component that I haven't been able to place on this machine. Although, I have had to send samples to their special Apps ...

0201 Machines - 5/2/05 -
- 0201 Machines Juki KE-2050R (or any of their R-series machines). They have the ability to automatically learn pick positions on paper tape feeders and they can zoom in on pick locations (x2 or x4), so this will help when they release their nozzle for 01005 components. Just about everybody has quick change over feeder banks as an option. They also have software that will determine common feeder setups to reduce or eliminate feeder changeover between jobs. Their demo ran real smooth; our board had ...

Connector placement - 4/28/05 -
- Connector placement The Juki KE-2060 machine has a very good programming tool for programming odd components. I have thrown quite a few odd connectors and odd BGA at it and the machine placed them all. Custom nozzles can be pricy, so I always try to find a way to use the standard nozzles. If you are near a local sales office ask them for a demo and bring your components. Having data sheets for the parts help, but it is always fun guessing at the right data to make the machine work. large bga (55mmx44mm) capable placement machines? - 9/8/04 -
- large bga (55mmx44mm) capable placement machines? Our Juki KE-2020 can place up to 74mm X 74mm ICs and BGA. I am have placed this zif socket before on the KE-2020 that you are speaking of. I don't think the KE-2020s are being made any longer. I know the new KE-2060 machines (that replaced the KE-2020) are also capable of placing these parts. So maybe you can talk with Juki about purchasing a refurbish KE-2020 or a new KE-2060 machine ...

Component designator lengths - 10/17/02 -
- Component designator lengths Craig, If you have a Juki KE-750/760, or the newer KE-2000s, it will support 8 characters for the designator. The older models only support 5 characters. If you have a KE-750 and/or a KE-760 and you can only enter 5 chars, then call you local Juki support for a software upgrade. Frank

Humidity question - 10/15/08 -
- ... QFN packages. The boards are 4-layer, densely populated and 6-mil traces. We also thru-hole reflow 9 TO-251 packages on the bottom and a 3.5mm pitch terminal block on top. We use AIM no-clean lead-free paste with a manual stenciler. We have 3 Juki KE-750 machines and a Manncorp CR-5000F 10-zone (5 up, 5 down) zone oven. The equipment runs only our product, about 60,000 units a year; we don't job-shop. The thru-hole reflow solder joints are near perfect as are the SMT joints, even on the 0.5mm ...

Typical SMT Machine changeover times? - 3/25/06 -
- Typical SMT Machine changeover times? I would rather keep my Juki KE-2060. It runs faster, do larger boards, and can place a wider range of components when compared to the Opal. Also, I have trolleys on front and rear, without losing any feeder locations. Why can't you put trolleys on the back of the Opal? And from what I heard the Opal is more expensive ...
