It depends on what material you used, but normally viscosity, adhesion, thickness and coverage is usually being inspected in production.

For boards that would need the conformal coating process, you would need to have them as clean as possible; especially the no clean process

I have put subjects in the search here and unable to locate something defined. Does anyone have a generic guideline you would follow if the customer and/or IPC doesn't state something? Couple examples is allowance of overspray on an outside of a conn

Doesn't get into the overspray allowance on bodies of connectors. I have submitted a request to get IPC-CC-830 and I hope that has more information.

We don't have 6000's, but have you checked the computer? All of ours have the manuals on the hard drive.

Thanks. I did manage to get this, which covers multiple models, including the 6000.

I had the same thought. We use a peelable mask to protect components during conformal coating. It could potentially give it complete protection with relatively easy removal.

Having issues with getting the right formula for a GPD simplecoat machine. We tried a silicone that hardened in our lines and when we try acrylic it is either showing air entrapment or cobwebbing.

Graham Naisbitt is definitely an expert on conformal coating, he has posted answers here for years. Check your material to see what the cure mechanism is. Most urethanes need moisture from the air to cure, the higher the relative humidity the faste

Q1: What is "enough surface free energy"? A1: Look here for background: http://www.azom.com/details.asp?ArticleID=1575 Q2: How do I determine surface free energy? A2: We look at it a relative term. For instance, a semi matte finish on solder mask
