I would if someone can share his "real-life" experience with FlexJet (7-spindle) heads. We are currently running machines with Flex heads (4-spindle), which are very easy to maintain, but I suppose 7-spindle has more throughput. All comments are welcome.

we have both flexjet and flexhead, we also have the new inline 7 head on some genesis dual beams we just put into operation. If you have a choice in flexjet heads take the inline 7. The flexjet 09 head is very labor intensive, stay away from them, even on what you think is a good deal. the 03 flexjet head is much better than an 09 in that the touch down sensors using the pin mirrors are much more reliable but the new inline 7 has the same touchdown setup as your old flexhead, much easier and way more reliable. we have had many instances on our 03 flexjets that the lower coupling gets damaged, even universal is unable to determine how this happens but I think that it happens when the head does a gang drop and pick of nozzles, from the changers. We also see issues with nozzles coming off in production on the 03 heads and its a real pain to find them with a loaded feeder bank! Also the newer flexjet type machines come now with only upward looking cameras, the "on the head" has lots of mirror clutch wear issues and its a pain to change clutches the way it is put together. If you buying new get the inline 7, if you going used get the 03 head and if possible get upward cameras and just remove the on the head camera,they offer a kit so you can remove it so what little speed you lose you will get back in reliability.
