Jim Fleig worked as a field service engineer for two cnc machine tool manufacturers, Hurco and Makino. The job responsibilities included: reviewing preparation for equipment installation with the customer (including foundation requirements), installation, startup, level, alignment, positioning accuracy check, operation training, programming training, vibration analysis, troubleshooting and repair. The job responsibilities were focused on vertical and horizontal mills. While working for the manufacturers, Jim Fleig traveled throughout the eastern half of the United States and northeastern Canada for 7 years.

CNC Services was begun in 1998. In addition to the job responsibilities above, Jim Fleig has responded to customer requests and business opportunity by expanding the range of services provided to the customer. The additional services include: buying and selling equipment, cnc control retrofits, laser calibration, maintenance, part and tool probing retrofits and rigging. The additional machine types serviced include: edms (ram and wire), grinders, lathes, press brakes, punch presses and shears (see repairs). The customers that have received services are located from Massachusetts to Michigan and from New York to the Dominican Republic.
