POWERFLOW N2, Nitrogen Tunnel Wave Solder Machine Specs:

POWERFLOW N2  - Full Nitrogen Tunnel Wave Solder Machine

The POWERFLOW N2 was specifically designed to meet the challenges of lead free! As ERSA's flagship machine, the POWERFLOW N2 can reduce lead free wave solder running costs by as much as 90%! The machine highlights a 16" board width, plug and play pre-heat design (Medium IR, Convection, Short IR and now with new topside Convection) and 1.8 meters of preheat standard. Additional pre-heating of up to 2.4 meters can be added if needed. A new nozzle configuration brings the chip wave closer to the laminar wave for reduced solder defects. This machine has a pin & chain transport throughout the fluxer and pre-heater and feeds into a finger conveyor in the wave section of the machine. A bar code scanner on the new fluxer allows to selectively flux and program in "keep out areas" for board cut outs, where the fluxer will not spray a specific are of the board. The POWERFLOW N2 machine has a process gas cleaning system (similar to Reflow machines) which also regulates the Auto Tunnel Temperature Compensation. The machine has a low profile design of 1.57 m and is ideal for demanding customers who require a 400 mm or 16" tunnel wave.

Temperature Controlled & Hermetically Sealed Nitrogen Process Tunnel

Full nitrogen tunnel machines offer optimal process conditions for a lead free wave soldering process. Critical for the process quality is the oxygen ppm level in the tunnel. Generally, the lower this ppm level is, the better the solderability can be realized. In an environment with a low oxygen ppm level, oxidation of materials such as the solder, lands and leads, is kept to a minimum thereby allowing for improved solderability. This is especially critical in a lead free application. The wetting characteristics of lead free alloys are more difficult and the higher process temperatures generally lead to increased oxidation. A significant additional advantage of a full nitrogen tunnel machine is the improved thermal efficiency. The hermetically sealed tunnel prevents heat escape and thereby greatly reduces the energy required for the pre-heating modules when compared to non-tunnel machines.  Finally, the innovative POWERFLOW N2 full tunnel was specifically designed to realize running cost savings as much as 90 % when compared to conventional wave solder machines.

Lowest Running Costs for Energy, Nitrogen and Solder Materials

Modern, full nitrogen tunnel wave soldering machines designed for high volume production realize their tremendous advantages not only in the increased quality, but also in the significant reduction of running costs for energy, solder, flux & nitrogen when compared to classical wave soldering. The innovative POWERFLOW N2 full tunnel was specifically designed to realize running cost savings as much as 90% when compared to conventional wave solder machines. Additionally, advanced serviceability was a key design criteria POWERFLOW N2. The goal was to guarantee the highest machine availability while at the same time affording the lowest costs for maintenance.
