User-Defined Dashboards

iMonitor users build unlimited numbers of dashboards of their own design. It is as easy as building a PowerPoint slide, except these slides come alive with hundreds of varieties of data and gauges.

Users simply drag and drop from a toolbox of ‘active elements’ and place them in a design space like a slide. They then select the line, machine or station from which that element should receive its data, and the dashboard comes alive. It is literally that simple.

Drill down is created much like a website. By linking one element in a dashboard to another, users create any interlinked set of real-time views. Dashboards can include elements such as quality, performance, machine, materials, OEE, alarms, WIP, and predictive job management data. The possibilities are nearly limitless.

User-Defined Data Retrieval

The traditional challenge in any software system is how users will retrieve data from it. The traditional means has been for highly skilled IT personnel to learn the database structure of the product and then write SQL to retrieve data.

A long, costly process that puts a middle man between the data and the people who need to analyze and leverage it. Aegis changes all that. Data Miner enables any user to retrieve, filter, sort, group, and analyze the vast store of data within the Aegis system entirely graphically—no SQL, scripting, or IT knowledge necessary.

Report Designer

When users build a data retrieval and analysis they find useful, it can be stored for future recall, or shared with specific users or groups of users for their use as well. It then passes this information to the report designer.

This designer presents a rich layout environment for making HTML or PDF reports for formal historical reporting and analysis. And since the Data Miner provides a means of retrieving data that does not require any IT skills, users can build all the reports they wish.

Alarms & Notifications

Users may connect system events, such as quality conditions going out of control, to Aegis Alarms. These alarms take the form of popup notifications, line stops using PFCs, or dashboard notifications.

Most often they are automated emails. These emails may be simple text mails with ‘smart text’ entries to build context-sensitive notifications. The system also enables users to attach entire reports that are auto-generated and sent out with the alarm email.

Truly Real-Time

Aegis iMonitor is a truly real-time dashboard system. Many tools claim to be real-time, but in actuality they fill with data from the database when they open, and have to be refreshed from time to time.

iMonitor dashboards update the instant information changes. They are often put in ‘slideshow mode’ above lines on flat panels, rotating automatically through a variety of dashboards totally unattended on specified timing.

Better still, iMonitor employs an advanced and exclusive Aegis technology that does not increase the load on the servers as the number of dashboards increases in the factory.

SPC, Data Visualization & Collaboration

Once data has been retrieved and organized as the user wishes, it can be rendered in grid form, pivot table, or in interactive charts of various types.

The charts enable users to visualize the data quickly before committing to a data retrieval to be passed to a report. It is also highly valuable in collaborative meetings where multiple parties wish to drill into charts and analyze the information together.

SPC is built into the system, also manifesting as instant charts for collaboration or transmission to the report designer.

Scheduled Reporting

Engineers and managers often wish to have certain reports arriving automatically in their inbox each day or each week, etc.

Aegis provides a report scheduler to take any report built in the Report Designer, schedule it, and auto-generate and email it to a user or groups of users.

A variety of ‘runtime’ variables are provided to fully automate the process and remove the need for the interaction of a user despite time and other variable requirements.

Traceability

Aegis traceability is not merely the materials content records. It includes the route, the quality data down to an individual component connection, the rework and component history, the upper level and lower level assemblies, machine data, recipes, the operators and machines and times the unit passed through them, test records, packaging records, the tooling used, and even the engineers who approved the release of the job to the floor.

Aegis makes all this data available via reports. It also is available via an interactive forward and reverse lookup environment on the web. Input a material lot number and find all units effected. Input a serial number and find everything about that unit. An incredibly easy and fast way to solve the traceability problem.
