SMT Supervisor

Position Responsibilities: SMT Supervisor: We are in the Efficiency business. To be efficient, the SMT Supervisor must focus on having effective people working for them. This enables the SMT Supervisor to work on high skill tasks. Daily: Organize personnel for efficient production. Set the Pace of the Day at the beginning of the shift. Review the status of all WIP in SMT and status of each machine and schedule jobs on the SMT Production Log Sheet. (6:59AM is a warning bell. 7:00AM the machines should run.) Efficiency results from doing things right the first time. That means hand placement of parts should always be avoided. That means “Tweezer work” also must not be accepted. Ensure Quality. Production Scheduling: the SMT Supervisor coordinates each day with the Customer Rep the SMT Schedule and Delivery Requirements. Plan the next job well before the currently running job completes. Understand and knowledge of these Quality Management System: AS9100, ISO9001, ISO13485 Ensure Procedure Compliance. The SMT Supervisor maintain orderly production floor. Update Order Status of SMT completed jobs so that this form can effectively be used as a tool by all supervisors. Complete DFM Reports on New Jobs to improve the efficiency of future runs. Traveler: The SMT Supervisor updates, generates and releases Travelers. The SMT Supervisor create Traveler notes to insure specifics for each job are known for future production runs. Conduct Training: To achieve efficiency the SMT Supervisor must develop in depth the skills of the people that work in SMT. Multiple people must be trained for each critical operation. Train for Programming Fuji: Mydata: Train for operation: AirVac Profiling Ovens AOI Monitor the SMT process: SPC for optimum yields, and maintain low DPMO Edit Traveler to increase yields. Training of employees: Maintain training requirements according to the training logs. The SMT Supervisor will train all new hires within their first two weeks of employment. Backup programs on each Mydata and Fuji workstation Position Skill Requirements: • Good organization skills. • Problem solving skills – A logical and systems approach for avoiding future problems. • Computer skills.
