Test Engineer

Detailed Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities: Work with R&D hardware engineers on the next generation of Remote Access and Voice over IP products. The engineer will: Ensure that the Next Generation boards meet Design for Testability and Design for manufacturability guidelines. Develop equipment to perform component level fault isolation on multi processor boards. Develop software for Power on Self Test(POST) and Built in Self Test(BIST). Product lines include Total Control, Broadband Access, Corebuilder, Wireless access, Voice over IP, and Cable Headends products. A solid background in hardware is required with knowledge of data/telecommunications; Modems, T1,T3,ISDN,PRI/E1 ISDN, ATM, 10M, 100M and 1G bit Ethernet, Token Ring, TCP/IP, SNMP, and ATM. Software development in C/C++, Perl, Expect, TCL/TK, UNIX/Sun Solaris operating system experience is a plus. Position Requirements: Qualifications: Knowledge of digital design and microprocessors. Knowledge in the following areas is preferred: Testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation of digital components. Good knowledge of the C language. Skills/Experience: 5+ years in digital hardware/embedded development environment. Knowledge of Power PC architecture is a plus. Must be self-motivated, able to work well in teams, and able to follow standard policies and procedures, Good oral and written communication skills are required.
