Job Overview

As a Sr Staff Process Engineer - SMT, you will hold a high-visibility position which interacts with our customer base, supplier base, academia, consortia, and operations for the continuous development of advanced capabilities and improved performance. As a member of the MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT team, you will be responsible for world-wide technology development activities. Since this is a staff level position, it provides a broad range of responsibilities and focus on state-of-the-art activities. Primarily supporting the design, implementation and administration of global manufacturing processes, specializing in SMT Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and document best practices related to Process.
  • Lead establishment and refinement of Process Performance metrics.
  • Lead Technology Transfer implementation to establish operational consistency across Plexus Manufacturing.
  • Lead Technology Transfer implementation to establish operational consistency across Plexus Manufacturing.
  • Manage manufacturing productivity solutions.
  • Support manufacturing aspects of site integration.
  • Lead development of DF(x)rules.
  • Lead new process development.

Qualifications

All Applicants must be able to legally live and work in the USA without sponsorship.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field highly desired.
Individual typically has 10+ years of experience in an engineering role or equivalent.
Specialist in automated assembly processes: SMT required; Through Hole & Mechanical.
Materials Science (PCA related such as solders, under fill, conformal coating)
Specialist in Soldering Processes (SMT, Wave, Rework, Lead-free)
