Design Engineer

Designs & develops membrane keypads by performing the following duties: Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal. Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems & develops design. Prepares or directs preparation or system layout and detailed drawings & schematics. Directs & coordinates manufacturing or building of prototypes. Plans & develops experimental test programs. Analyzes test data to determine if design meets functional & performance specs. Confers with research & other engineering personnel & prepares design modifications as required. Requires evaluation & development of new product opportunities utilizing screen printing and SMT assembly technologies, as well as develop new membrane packaging concepts. Assigns & directs staff members to develop design concepts to art layouts and prepare layouts for printing. Reviews, approves, and presents final layouts to client or department head for approval.
