The largest society dedicated to the advancement and growth of microelectronics and electronics packaging technologies. IMAPS produces numerous workshops, conferences, professional development courses, and exhibitions.

IMAPS leads the Microelectronics Packaging, Interconnect and Assembly Community, providing means of communicating, educating and interacting at all levels.

Founded in 1967, IMAPS is the leading international microelectronics and electronic packaging society with professional members in 23 North American chapters and 21 international chapters. Members of the Society represent every discipline and specialty in the electronics industry and include both technical and marketing professionals. IMAPS hosts a variety of technical workshops and conferences and professional development courses that enable these professionals to enhance their careers. In addition, the Microelectronics Foundation provides annual grants to students involved in electronic packaging disciplines.

The Society’s portfolio of technologies is disseminated through symposia, conferences, workshops, professional development courses and other efforts. IMAPS currently has more than 3,000 members in the United States and more than 3,000 international members around the world.

In 1996, the original Society, ISHM, merged with the International Electronic and Packaging Society (IEPS) to become IMAPS (International Microelectronics And Packaging Society), the leading international microelectronics and electronic packaging organization. With this immense growth, IMAPS conducts 30 meetings each year that offer a full spectrum of educational and marketing opportunities to the microelectronics and packaging professional. IMAPS symposia, conferences, and workshops feature preeminent presentations of the ongoing work in the industry worldwide. Exhibitions and trade shows highlight the latest product and service applications of the current technology. IMAPS meeting attendees are able to meet and exchange ideas and information with the best and brightest professionals in the international microelectronics and packaging industry.

IMAPS and China Electronics Packaging Society Sign Memorandum of Cooperation.

Jun 13, 2007 | During a visit to China in April, IMAPS First Past President Jim Drehle and IMAPS President Elect Steve Adamson met with Professor BI Keyun, President of CEPS, China Electronics Packaging Society, and of CIE, China Institute of Electronics. Discussions were held concerning potential cooperation and a Memorandum of Cooperation was developed. The Memorandum was reviewed and subsequently approved by the Executive Council of IMAPS.

The IMAPS Global Business Council Announces 2006 Marketing Forum Program.

Aug 22, 2006 | The IMAPS Global Business Council (GBC) has announced the IMAPS 2006 Marketing Forum to be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, from 5:45 - 7:15 PM at the San Diego Convention Center. The GBC Marketing Forum is free-of-charge to all IMAPS 2006 attendees. The Marketing Forum Program follows the lead of the IMAPS 2006 Technical Program in emphasizing technologies that are prevalent in the Southern California/South West region. The presentations will be on RF/Microwave, Biomedical, and Military/Aerospace.

IMAPS' Comprehensive Industry Guide Available Online

Mar 19, 2001 | The IMAPS Industry Guide, a comprehensive listing of products and services for over 600 organizations, is now available electronically and free of charge. The Guide provides a valuable resource and searchable database of not only IMAPS member companies but non-member companies as well. It is anticipated that by 2002 the Guide will feature over 1200 companies.

Mar 13, 2001 | The Exhibition Hall of IMAPS 2001, The 34th International Symposium on Microelectronics, is 80% sold out, according to John Graves, General Chair of the symposium. "We are well ahead of our goal for this time, and have even outstripped our progress for last year" he stated. "We're excited, because it's going to be a terrific show and symposium, with more than 350 exhibitor booths and a cutting-edge technical conference." IMAPS 2001 takes place this coming October 9 - 11, 2001 at the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, MD USA.
