CSM 84V: damaged parts (mmelf, 0805) during placing. | 6 December, 2005

Lately we purchease second hand CSM 84V. During placing parts, we notices that few components are damaged (mmelf, 0805). What we done: - the position of pcb was decreased - the jaws moved little bit outside. Components after that are still damaged. How to fix this problem ?

regards Darek.

check the placement height of the head, That can be checked by manual up & down of head on conveyor the nozzle should just soft touch the conveyor. Also check the down speed of head.

we also faced similar problem in fuji cp643. addition to your suggestion - mainly in program PCB thickness, component height checked & set correctly , then problem solved.

is the Chuck set correctly on the collers, Wide jaw Soft spring & Narrow jaw hard spring. Also check the pick up angle in the feeder file.

You may also wish to check the speed controllers for both descent and ascent. The higher the ascent speed the more force the jaws close with. It can be difficult to achieve a "good" nozzle placement height as this is mechanically set and your lowest pick-up height determines your placement height. Taller components get pushed into the pcb. This can be alleviated to some degree by getting your highest pick-up height and adjusting all other components to this height by using shims, (maybe cut up bits of old stencils), or tape underneath the feeders. Not condusive to quick set ups.

Dear,

i faced the same problem. slow down the transport speed, increase the component hight & make the pick-place soft.

Best regards.

Thank you all for your info. Our problem is fixed.

We did as you mention: - chuck set correctly on the collers, Wide jaw Soft spring & Narrow jaw hard spring - make the pick-place soft - slow down the speed controllers for both descent and ascent

Hello, I have a CSM 84VZ for sale. This machine runs except for a sensor problem in the Z upward motion when you attempt to zero the machine. Please let me know if you are interested and I will send you complete details. Best Regards, Randy Gray

Good Morning:

We are looking at trying to find someone to service our CSM-84VZ and were wondering if you knew of any techs we could call who would walk us through the service process over the phone?

Thank YOU Mark Chisholm mark@appliedi.com
