Mydata Line Scan

We have an older line scan camera on our MY series machine.(The one that uses the X wagon trigger/encoder to turn on the line scan)When I go into the service program and turn the line scan camera to "camera action on" the LED's will only stay lit for a short period, then the shut off. I have replaced the line scan power supply and the LSAD board to no avail.

Has anyone ever encountered this before ?

Hahaha.....I knew that was coming.

I have worked with Mydata tech support for quite some time on this issue. They want me to start replacing more and more hardware.

I just went on the whim that maybe someone else out there has seen this specific problem.

Yep, figured that. Just thought I'd ask the question anyway. That is the issue, all the parts they send to troubleshoot will be billed. A field service engineer on the other hand can request all the parts and you'll only be billed for what fixed the problem. The other parts will be returned at no charge.

Mydata's tech support is iffy, at best. The techs are ok (slow as hell...) But they are trying to turn the servicing into a profit center...a $2000.00 PO just to come in the door???? The machines are quirky, too...

This could be a dirty glass scale. alignment or gap. step one clean the glass scale. if the number changes 1 - 0 when you move the head it is probably an aligment or gap issue.
