OK, here is stupid question #..... oh, I lost track.

While looking at a BOM I notice a lot of parts with "SMT" in the description. This is obviously Surface Mount.

What do "SMB" and SMD" mean?

I just know I will feel stupid when I read the answer....

Tell us what the rest of the descriptions are. for example SMD can mean surface mount device or if they are decribing a tant cap it probably means "D" or 7343 package, I see diodes labeled as SMB, SMA, etc.. which also relates to size. So who knows?

In that context the "SMB" and "SMD" refers to the package or "case" type the mfg. uses. See the component mfgs. data sheet, last page usually that shows case outline drawing. These are usually avbl on the mfgs. website in a PDF.
