thanks for the kick in the @$$ dave, I needed it.

I knew you could do it. I supported you guys all the way down the line. After all, how tough could it be? Why should I support you, when it's that much a pud job?

It's probably worth the effort, just to shut me up.

Could anyone, ever, save for your wife, put forth enough effort to really get you to shut up?

Hell, you have a vast source of info just oozin' out of your pores, it's a good thing the 'net exists to relieve the pressure or you'd probly be swoll'd up!

That is very coo, Neil.

While we're on the topic, help me understand the differences between: * Blue SEARCH button [in the center of the top of the page] that seems to work like a blue search button should work. * Search BOX [in the top right hand side of the page] that when used to search the Forum doesn't work very well.

The blue search button is actually remnants of the higly modified forum code that we're using. The other search is of our own. I had always been under the assumption that the other search (top right) had been superior. Although I could just be biased since I wrote it. That being said, it would be easier for me to modify my own than try to mess with the convoluted blue button code.

What is it about the upper right search function that you don't like?

I like the blue search button better than the upper right search button, because it gives far greater hits that are more representative of the content of the forum. For example: http://www.smtnet.com/Forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&CFApp=1&&Message_ID=7085&_#Message7085 {be careful using this because Cold Fusion like to drop the last character of links.]

NOTE: Since the old forum archives have been added, the numbers of hits quote above are probably not precise, but I imagine the general trend is clear.

Finally, Brian you suggested using the blue button, after I complained about the pathetic results from the upper right.

Anyhow I'm looking into the problem as we speak...or type...whatever.

Ok the upper right search is now equal in power to the other one. Use either.

I also found and fixed that annoying little bug that made the page duplicate itself when donig a search off the home page.

Oh GREAT!!! They probably dummied-up the BLUE SEARCH button to work like garden slug-like SEARCH BOX.
