Prototype Surface Mount Equipment | 19 May, 1998

I'm looking to increasing my prototyping capabilies by getting some automated pick and place equipment etc. Any leads on where to start investigating? I'm a very small job shop with 5 employees. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you a prototype shop or do you do prototyping with the goal of doing long production runs? Dave F

I'm trying to figure out what my budget is right now but it appears that $8-10K would be ideal with a top range of probably $15-20K.

Greg, In looking at your budget. The best place may be to contact Mancorp and see if they can outfit your needs. I believe their starter kit is about $12 to $15K for printer, p&p, and oven. This would probably be a good place to start. Just so you know . . . we manufacture stencil printers from low to high end but we start too pricy for what you have described. Another place to go is Fritsch which makes basic Manu-matic equipment in your price range. | I'm looking to increasing my prototyping capabilies by getting some automated pick and place equipment etc. Any leads on where to start investigating?
