Hollis Polyclean SMT | 7 August, 1998

Good day. We have just purchased a HOLLIS POLYCLEAN SMT Machine. We did not receive a manual and for installing the machine, we need the indications for the ventillation system: ie the number of CFM for the blower. We would greatly appreciate it if anyone can supply us this information. Thank you....

Alain: Two things to try: 1 Check with your Electrovert factory rep. I believe they purchased Hollis. 2 Check with used equipment brokers. They will probably have something they can sell you. Good luck Dave F

We purchased a used Polyclean in 1996 and installed a rooftop exhaust fan that we purchased from Grainger. It is a Dayton model 3C716-2 with a 3/4 hp motor #3N487-8. It has a #3X830-7 2.95" fan sheave and a #3X264-9 variable pitch motor sheave with a 1/2" x 27" #4l270 belt. There are three vent connections on top of the machine. The cleaner is ducted with 4" galvanized vent to the cieling. Above the cieling we joined the outlets to an 8" plenum of the same vent material. From there we took a tee up and transitioned to 12" for the roof jack connection. The vent pipe was all single wall galvanized available from any hardware store. Although it is prpbably recommended we did not install any baffles in the exhaust pipe. The manual recommends a minimum of 800 cfm for exhaust. We have not measured it but I believe that we are pulling about 1200 cfm. The system works great, we have not experienced any problems with it, and it allows no steam to escape into the room. P.S. Keep the blower filters replaced regularly or you will blow fuses.
