Intelliplace and Europlacer | 24 November, 1998

We are in the process of assessing some medium volume, stand alone SMT Placement systems. Does anyone have any experience with :-

1) Europlacer (Specifically the Progress 6 or EP600) 2) Intelliplace (DHM-120 or SHM-120)

I have searched the forum but can find very little on these systems.

Intelliplace is probably the same type of deal. Check with the Europeans to determine who markets for them. These products are not in wide distribution here. So, you may find that you can also learn about user preferences about these machines by calling their customer list, in addition to this forum. Dave F

Still the advice is the same on machines without (and I guess with) substantial market presence. Get their customer list and call, call call. TTYL Dave F

We are presently selling the Europlacer machines direct into the North American market. We have sold through a distributor for the past 5 years and have a number of customers who have bought Europlacer Progress 6 model machines that are very satisfied with them. If you would like to contact me directly, I will be happy to provide you with some references that you could call. I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Intelliplace and Europlacer | 3 December, 1998

Hi Scott, The only information that I have on the Intelliplace machine is that it is their own design unlike the other models (Casio) that they are licensed to sell. As for the other machine (Europlacer Progress 6), I have an extensive background with that machine. If you're looking for true flexibility, this is the machine. I used the machine at an OEM where we supplied CCA's to final assembly in daily lots through a kanban system. This necessitated multiple setups and changeovers. The mix was approximately 30 different CCA's totalling 2,500 per day (2 shift operation). The system was configured with all the feeder options (intelligent tape trolleys, intelligent feeder trolleys, handheld tape feeders, matrix tray and vibratory feeders). I can't say enough about this machine, but feel free to contact me off-line at steves@xetron.com for any questions and/or comments.

Hi Scott,

I am a regional manager for Multitroniks and would be glad to assist you with additional information on the systems you are asking about. Both of these machines can be demonstrated for you any time at our factory in Warren, NJ.

Below I'll include a press release for you concerning Multitroniks and Intelliplace.

MultiTroniks Announces Major Expansion, Acquires Intelliplace

Warren, NJ MultiTroniks, a world-class leading supplier of automated SMT pick and place assembly equipment, has announced a major expansion in the acquisition of Intelliplace, a leading developer and manufacturer of SMT placement equipment based in the UK. In making the announcement, Kamran Abers, President of MultiTroniks stated that This expansion is not only globally strategic for MultiTroniks, but its also great news for all of our customers as well as those of Intelliplace. Now, the experienced engineers of both MultiTroniks and Intelliplace will work as a development team and focus on meeting the needs of our customers globally Abers added. From their facilities in Colchester, England Intelliplace will continue development of its product lines, manufacture of the DHM series, and support for the Dynapert aftermarket. Intelliplace will also market and support MultiTroniks placement systems in the European marketplace, while this arrangement will be reciprocated by MultiTroniks in the North and South American markets.

Multitronics now only sells Dynapert? | 4 December, 1998

I thought Dynapert went out of business. Is anyone now using a Multitronics Dynapert machine? How is it working? What happened to the 6000. Why did they loose their agreement with this vendor? Does the 6000 work with the Dynapert? Where do I get support for the Multitronics 6000 machine? I think that the Europlace guys will support it, but I have yet to hear from them!

Your right Dynapert did go out of buisness. Multitroniks recent acquisition was for Intelliplace. The Dynapert / Intelliplace connection was primarely staff related. Support for all levels of Multitronik equipment is still provided from Multitroniks. The 6000 is still available and a relationship with the vendor still exists. For more information please contact your area representative or regional manager. Multitroniks can be reached directly at 908-561-4200.
