Folks,

Probably not the forum, but forgive me as I am but a dog as described by Justin and admitted by me. However, I am looking for a previously owned Camalot 1818 "goop" dispensing system for selective wave soldering operations. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of a one owner, well maintained, low mileage system, please contact me with price and delivery.

Thanks, but I "need" a Camalot, in a hurry. I qualified this machine and the entire process in my last contract, have all the procedures written, qualified the goop, and need it to offset the need for dedicated hard tooling as selective wave pallets for some upcoming protos and other.

Thanks again,

Earl Moon

Earl, why don't you post this ALSO in the "Mart". Is there a reason?

How are you planning to use goop to replace selective soldering pallets?

Cover joints of parts which you don't want to solder? Cover entire parts you don't want to solder? My mind reels...

If you're ready to share your work then as Frasier would say "I'm listening".

Thanks, Boca

Yes to all the above. Cover them all. Precisely apply water soluble mask over them all and let the goop dry as it doesn't cure, as in cross linking. It is composed mostly of glycerine and water. If you haven't seen it, you won't believe it either.

Like I said before, the last place I contracted, we never once bought a dedicated, hard tooled, wave solder pallet. Only draw back is dry time as 2 hours at ampient, depending on RH and 1 hour in the oven. Not exactly great for high volume production, but works very well for protos, quick turns, and high mix/low volume applications where it's prohibitive to pay all those bucks for hard stuff.
