Help with D^2 Pak on MV100 Chipshooter | 20 September, 1999

Can anyone help with programming a D^2 Pak on a Panasert MV100. I'm having trouble setting up the parts data and teach the component. What should the Up, Down, Left, Right, Component Code, Lead Details, and Cut Lead Settings be? A link to the package drawing is attached. We are using the TRL version of the component with the leads towards the tape indexing holes. Thanks in advance. G. Henning

Use component class 7 and enter the dimension of the casing only, ignore the leads. You may have to adjust the placement coordinates for proper placement. I use this class 7 whenever the machine has trouble recognizing parts.

George, I am not sure what the vision system is on the Panasert but I would like to ask a question. Why are you describing the parts as though the lead are facing the tape carrier holes? Is this how the part is defined in your CAD files? If this is not the case you will place all parts with the wrong rotation unless you compensate for this in your PD.
