I have been asked a question on what procedures we should in case of a PCB delaminating during the reflow process, e.g what gases can be produced and any evacuation /re-entering checks that we should do before allowing the operators to return to their place of work.

Wow this sounds like an upper management questions. Why would anybody suspect any different out gassing from a board that de-laminates and one that doesn't, unless of course the board is literally being burnt or scorched. If I'm missing something here please educate me.

I agree with SOB. First, someone is thinking too much and has too much idle time. And second, controlling volatiles from routine fluxing should be much more concerning than volatiles from out-gassing from delamination. In most plants, delamination is a rare occurrence.

If I had the level of delamination that would cause me to be concerned about controlling out-gassing from it, I'd be figuring out how to preventing delamination.

when you have delamination problem,is an error in the manufacturing process of pcb manufacturer.the only method but costing money for avoid delamination is steaming all pcb just before production

I have never heard of steaming PCBs. Wouldn't this induce moisture into the PCB and cause more delamination and out gassing? The only way to fix delamination, providing your manufacturing processes are in line is to find a new PCB fab house that can give you a quality product. I can't count the number of times the board houses told me it was my manufacturing process even tho the last thousands of boards I ran prior were just fine using identical processes.

So true SOB If I had a dollar for every time a board house asked about my reflow profile due to a delam event or a barrel failure I'd have a pile of dollars for sure. But that is the "stock" response - "Show us your reflow profile", even though you may have run plenty of the same product.

Same product you run for months. New batch, new date code, and you have delamination at reflow. First Question, "What did you change in your process?" NOTHING Second question " what is your reflow peak temperature?" SAME AS BEFORE

The delamination was caused by a board falling off the rails and the operator not paying attention. I was more concerned with what fumes are produced by a smouldering board.

(1) Signal the Layers (layer Signal) : the copper foil layer, used to complete electrical connections. Altium Designer Winter 09 allowed 32 Layer signal, circuit board design, respectively, for the Top Layer, Mid Layer 1, Mid Layer 2... 30 Mid Layer and Bottom Layer, each Layer with different color display. (2) Internal Planes (the middle tier, also called Internal power supply and ground layer) : also belongs to the copper foil layer, is used to establish the power and ground network. 16 middle tier system allows circuit board design, respectively as Internal Layer 1, the Internal Layer 2... Internal Layer 16, the layers with different color display. Layer (3) Mechanical the Layers (Mechanical) : used to describe the circuit board structure, annotation and processing machinery production and assembly information such as the use of level, can't complete the electrical connection in the feature, but its name can be defined by the user. System allows PCB design contains 16 Mechanical Layer, respectively Mechanical Layer 1, Mechanical Layer 2... Mechanical Layer 16, the layers with different color display.
