Can anyone supply me with the default MOD codes for a Quad 2C. I have recently picked up a used one and am having trouble getting to run properly. All I have is codes for a 4C.

Thanks

There are different sets of mod codes depending on the firmware version on the machine. One of the function codes can tell you what firmware you have and if its quadalign or cyberoptics. Re-post and maybe i will have the version you need.

Thanks Bobpan,

A function 6 tells me that I have firmware ver IVC 3.05.

I keep getting a motor error 4 "The Xand/or Y axis did not reach the commanded position within 500 msec."

The battery was dead on this machine so the mod codes were lost. I entered the defaults for a 4C but it didn't help. I am hoping the 2C codes will solve this issue.

Thanks

I have been in the process of setting up a Quad 2C that lost its mod codes myself.

Have you cleaned the glass encoder strips for X and Y? I was getting alot of motor errors until I cleaned them and I believe it was the error 4.

Hope this helps.

Motor error 4 is an error that is caused by the machine not reaching a position in a timely matter. Usually its in the x/y axis but also could be z. If you have cleared the mod codes (function 35 shift 7) the machine should home. Usually this problem is 1 of the following.....clean the x/y glass scales, check the x/y ribbon cables for wear, check the x/y motor cables for wear (these are the hardest to find because they will break inside and you cant see the problem). Also try to run the machine at a slower speed. There is a mod code on the 2c that has 3 speed settings for the machine. Sometimes the x motor ages and it has a hard time running at full speed. The middle speed is still fast and sometimes the problem will go away.

Good luck

Bob, The one at CASI did the same thing. Did we ever get that one to work?

I thought the the machine was slowed down to speed setting 1 for the x/y axis and the machine worked. I think the x-motor was on its way out.
