Matrix Tray Setup | 30 December, 2009

I'm setting up a matrix tray for the first time on our Quad QSP-2.

I believe I have defined the tray and holder. Assigned part numbers. My issue is that instead of teach feeders, I think I need to teach table top. When I do this, I am not finding any area in the software to verify correct spacing and do any pick up verifies.

If anyone could shed some light on this issue, I greatly appreciate it.

Craig -

It has been quite a while but from what I remember you teach the tray holder in teach table top. Then you have to put the part/tray on the the tray holder. Also, ensure the part is in your program.

I don't remember where to do that but I do know you will not be able to teach/verify the pickup in teach tabletop.

Maybe that will help you until some of the Quad pros return from the break it seems that most companies are on.

Craig: Make sure you have done a table changeover and then when you go into teach tabletop there should be a tab at the top that says matrix trays. After selecting that ...choose the tray you want below and then right click on a part on the tray in the graphics and make it your reference 1 part. Teach it and then step through the tray making sure its stepping correctly...... good luck Bob

Thank you very much for the input. I figured out my problem to be that once I defined the tray, I did not changeover the table top just as Bob said.

I'm good to go now, I think anyways. I was so used to the IQ feeders, changing over the matrix tray slipped my mind.
