Is there any industry standard to what acceptable (%) level the throw-out component during placement.regardless, program-vison, feeder, nozzle, component problem?

Thanks in advance!

Are you trying to tie someone to an agreed wastage level or are you being tied? What machines are you talking about? What components are you talking about? The only acceptable wastage level is zero: but you can't get to zero until you've had some wastage. Check you data at least every hour and keep chipping away at the problems. What do you do if you get spliced tape, peel-back that won't, under sized pockets, oversized pockets. The problem solving scenario is deliciously endless. You can fix poor data, poor feeders, poor machinery. You can train or fire poor people. This includes operators, I was mainly referring to suppliers. If you are getting hammered for wastage show the hammerer what you've done to fix it. If you're hammering someone for wastage show the hammeree HOW to fix it. 1% is in the ballpark.

Thanks Darby for your comment and absolutely agree with you. What we are trying to define here is a KPI for throw out. but before that, we need to get a guideline or standard as reference. in this case, if no any industry standard then we can use current actual data as benchmark and proceed with the improvement plan which is very tough as we are dealing with different type and older machines.
