All,

Anybody like to share some programming tips etc. I currently use MCS for Fuji Machines .

Main probs are orientations etc.

When customer sends in Cad data how is the orientation determind on the data they give in.

Orientation doesn't translate well from CAD. You need to confirm proper orientation in your machine program by comparison with an assembly drawing or a sample product.

yes, it is correct.

also CP6 & IP3 require different placment angle in program if you are placing ICs & transistor from these machine ( 180 + )so can not contorl through CAD data best way is to make one sameple board for trial

you don't need different placement angles, not if you write the PD's properly, generate your programs from a source program and use the optimiser to split the progs up. so in theory the cad data can work although in practice it rarely does due to differences in the starting orientation that the CAD library for the part has and the fuji 0 orientation.

Rotations are always confusing. My first suggestion would be to use the program polarity option on your Fuji equipment. This will allow you to keep the same rotational value in the programs if you have to move components between machines. Make sure you have it turned on in both the program and the pd.

The next problem with cada data is the fact that the cad designer calls their component zero direction differently from what the majority of SMT programmers call theirs. So in short you have to match the cad rotations with the way you write your part descriptions at direction zero. I am not sure what tool you are using to program but I use CircuitCam now and there is a option called neutralize cad shapes that allows me to rotate the cad direction zero to the way I write my part descriptions. If you could be more specific I will try and help.
