High Temp Reflow Lubricants

High Temp Reflow Lubricants | 3 August, 2005

With oven temps rising due to Lead-Free Processing, I'm looking for some information on high temp Reflow Oven lubricants. I've found some info in the Fine SMTnet Archives on Chain Lubricants, (Mostly Synthetic Motor Oils), but I'm wondering what others are using on their Leadscrews and Thompson Rods? The Biral NMG that we've been using now seems to be binding under the stress of our higher oven temperatures. (It's rated to 265c, but it appears to be drying out.) Any thoughts?? Thanks!!

We use the following stuff from "Biral USA":

BIO30 Synthetic High Temp Oil Chain Oilers NMG-400G No melt grease - miter gears/lead screws AS500ML Anti-size spray - lead screws, drive sprockets, rail support L-brackets

It seems to work good on our high temp. profiles for some very thick boards we build. Not into lead free yet but the thick boards approach lead free temps. Hope this helps.
