How to remove paint from back of PCB without damaging ?

How to remove paint from back of PCB without damaging ? | 9 July, 2005

I have several circuit boards (about 14" by 16" in size) that I recently acquired and am trying to repair. One problem is that the former owner painted (spray paint I think) the word "TEST" in big red letters covering most of the solder side of the board (components only on one side). Does anyone know of a safe way to remove this paint without damaging the baord? I do not have access to industrial equipment, so it must be something that I can wipe on and rub off to remove....

Thanks

Dennis

Alcohol and a scrub brush or try some 440R (http://www.smartsonic.com/). This stuff cleans almost anything off.
