Do you know why my solder paste sticks to the squeegee so much that it mis-prints and how can I prevent it from happening. I can only get about 3/4 prints before this happens.

What size paste roll do you have on your stencil? It should be about 1/2" in diameter. What type of paste are you using? I have found that certain Mfgrs have this problem with some of their formulations. What typoe of printer and what is your squeegeee angle?

Humidity level can play into this as well. Good blades will help the process. We use permalex blades from Transition Automation and we love them.

YMMV

We've talked about this previously on SMTnet. Try searching the fine Archives. For instance: http://www.smtnet.com/forums/Index.cfm?CFApp=1&Message_ID=5473

Hi,

Check to make sure your paste is not dried up, and it should roll across the stencil, not slide. Also, if your running in a cold environment, then that can stiffen up the paste, and it will still to the blades, and not roll over the stencil correctly when printing.

Is it cold, or is the paste old?

Regards,

Grant

We also had issues with paste sticking on our Trans Automation printer and switched to the Permalex blades. That made the biggest difference with release. They are a little pricey but it was worth it.
