Improve program skill of Fujicam | 30 April, 2000

We use Fujicam for FUJI CP643 programming and optimizing in our plant. There are about 800 parts (80% chips and 20% lead components) being placeed by 2 CP643. When using Fujicam automaticly allocate feeders and optimize insert order, I got 29000 cph throughput. I try manually optimization, I got 30500 cph. Does anyone else has the related experince? Your reply will be greatly appreciated.

Yes,the Fujicam optimize your production program will happen something wrong, such as the placing order is from bigger componments to smaller ones, and the order of the D-table is out of order,and.....no efficiency on the optimizing.......... So, I can confirm your feeling is right!!

You are definately not alone. Fujicam doesn't optimize very well at all and modfication of both feeder allocation and insert order is required to increase throughput. Out of curiosity, what version are you running?

I understand your frustration. However, I contacted The Fuji Software support at 847.821.2401 and talk to one of their system engineers and they helped me out. It turned out that I was not aware of particular fields that effect the optimization.

I agree with lucky that there are fields to watch wich will improve optimization but still to get maximum throughput you may have to manipulate a little. One thing that might help is to be sure that "consider part height" is not selected, this will eliminate "bouncing" around on the feeder tables and will run more smoothly/efficiently.

Jack, No need to get frustrated. There is not an optimization software made that will end up with a program that runs faster than doing the same program manually. There are too many ways to speed up production for the software to consider. Even if it could there would probably still be circumstances where you wanted to slow down to ensure proper placement. Remember to take board travel and D-table travle in mind when looking at "cph". For the best results, if you run larger boards, you might have to pick between the two. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong!!!
