Upgrading PPU computer for AI equipment

I am looking for some help in upgrading my pc that I run PPU software on for my Universal AI equipment. I have installed PPU on a 840mhz pc and everything works fine except I can not transfer programs from the pc to the uicp. The error I get is buffer time out. I am sure it is a problem with the PC being too fast but I really need to upgrade so that I can network to this pc. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can make the new pc work or any potential alternate suggestions. Thanks
