MPM Teaching Vision | 1 June, 2004

I am new with MPM printer,need help.I am trying to teach a new board, after selecting targets,when I exit teach vision ,it errors out "Board Model Not Found". Board orientation is correct. The books talks about Vision Y not squared to axis. Does anyone knows how to check this. Thanks

I used an Ultraprint 2000 so if that's what you use then maybe I might be able to help.

First, I'm assuming that you've already passed the Teach New Board section. This is board dimension, X and Y boardstop, stencil/squeegee heights and strokes. If you've already pass this section and you're into Teach Vision then this is how I do it.

The contact side on your stencil should include fiducials that matches fiducials on your board. When you Add, go to Single not Multi. Move the mouse to the general location of your first fiducial. Align the fiducial on the screen (center-wise). It will then look at the underside of the stencil. You may need to scroll around to look for the fiducial on the bottom of the stencil. Add another fiducial and choose Single again versus Multi. Scroll to your second fiducial and follow the prompt through. When you finish and click Exit, the camera should move back and forth between the two fiducials and align the stencil accordingly.

I been using pads as fiducial, I am at end where the camera moves back and forth between the board and stencil, then it errors out.I been using single not multi, do I have to go to multiple since I am using pads? Thanks

single is for a single model. In other words, your "fiducials" are identical or near-so.

Multi means your using multiple models. The machine will use individual models for alignment.

I would use multi on pads.

Is this an SPM machine? I bet your first fid passes but your second fid fails. Right? Switch to multi.
