With the machine off, try to move all axes manually away from any limits, i.e.: away from the end of their course. Some machine can't deal with having axes at limit when you turn them on.

You may also have a faulty sensor. We have a MPM that had a faulty sensor and caused reset problems

Try to check axis drivers - at the begining should be tactile. When you press RESET look on the screen - is there any change (position send from encoders) ?

We have had the same problem with an AP27. The cause then was that for some reason the drivers for the mouse was "crappy". So when we pressed the next-button the computer recogniced it as the exit-button. We downloaded new drivers for the logitech mouse and then it worked.

Kuru-

If you have a bad tactile sensor....find out what the part number is and you can order it from MPM. If you don't have the part number, MPM won't help you unless you pay a price to register the machine. You're other solution is to post an ad on SMTNet marketplace looking for that part and someone will respond.

I have adjusted the flag on the photosensor. The photosensor appear to be functioning but the stepper motor I am not sure.Is there way to check the stepper motor?

Unplug the tactile sensor and check the switch with an ohm meter. If the tactile sensor switch is good go in one of the drawers in the back of the machine and with the help of your schematics find the opto-module that controls the tactile sensor circuit. See if the opto-module fires on and off as you toggle the switch on the tactile sensor. If the opto-module is not working it is either bad or you have a wiring problem from the tactile sensor to the opto-module board. Those opto-modules go out quite a bit and I'd bet your problem is there.

My switch is good, I can check the switch and the two photo sensors on the input test screen. They are turning on and off.I can see it no the board too. When I start up I can see Tactile unit come down so I know pneumatics portion is good. I am still geting the "Tactile Sensor sensor never closed" error and doesn't finish reset. Thanks for your help. I am open for more any help. Thanks

Sounds to me like the driver for the tactile is not working. The tactile has three components to it. The first is the switch, the second is the pneumatic up/down actuator and the third is a small motor in the tactile assembly. The motor has a driver card that is unique to the tactile motor. All the other motors use the same driver. All but the tactile. My money is that it has failed. For gods sake do not swap another driver for the tactile driver. It can/may burn up the tactile motor if you power up and reset.

And sorry to say but since that driver is unique you may have to call MPM for a replacement part.

I just noticed your original post was from April.

I just can't believe anyone would deal with a problem this long and NOT contact the factory. Am I the only one who thinks this way?
