Passive Component Purchasing | 19 December, 2003

Hi,

Our local suppliers keep running out of passives, and it's becoming annoying.

Does anyone know of any large component suppliers who sell passives, and often keep stock? We would like to find large US or overseas passive component suppliers for 0805, 0603 size resistors and capacitors etc.

I hope someone can help!

Regards,

Grant Blackmagic Design

PS. Have a great holiday season everyone!

Hello Grant, I represent an independent distributor (Semixchange Inc.) which is ISO 9000-2001 registered, and has an ESD compliant warehouse. We buy and sell thousands of passive components a year. We stock many part #s in our warehouse in Warwick,RI. I spent 21 years selling connectors for AMP Inc. (Tyco)so if you have any connector requirements I can help you. Please let me help you, and I can show you how good we are. Regards, Frank Wishing you the best for you and your family for the Hilday season.

Alright this guy's promising the world. If anyone uses this company as a result of this thread please let us know if your able to get 0805's, 0402's or 0201's that you couldn't get anywhere else. We don't have size constraints and have been using 1206's and these are sometimes even hard to find.

Makes you want to go back to through hole.

Bert

It's gotta make you twitchie when the guy poses his cerd as "ISO 9000-2001 registered". Since 2000 was the moost recent time that ISO9000 was reved-up.

Hi,

Thanks for the info, and I will follow up on that.

For everyones info, I did a google search and found a company called Passive Components who had most of what we needed in stock, so we did an order via them. We will see how it goes.

Lead times are blowing out right now though, which is annoying. That's why we are purchasing a year of passives just to make sure we are covered.
