Ok the folk's so how's your math's??

I'm trying to track down an equation for calculating the output of a set of quartz lamps as part of a thermal matching program, anyone got any hints?

and Dave...don't do it doesn't count!

John: Dont do it, well at least until we better understand what youre doing.

What are you doing? Is it "heat capacity"? Heat capacity relates the change in heat to a change in temperature.

Ok dave so yes your right I'm going to measure the heat capacity for each bank of lamps from 3 wave solder machines so I can try and match the output of each set of lamps so I can match teh machines. As a by product I'm hoping to use it to set up a long term model for measuring teh decay in the output of the lamps over time so I know when my lamps need replaced or the setting's need changed ...before it's too late.

thoughts:?

John: Sorry I'm tardy getting back to you on this

Heat capacity = [applied voltage in volts*applied current in amps*(time ending in seconds - time start in seconds)]/(K ending - K start)

The units of heat capacity are joules per mole-degree when using the units above.

I would kind of expect you to graph this with temperature (K) on the "Y-axis" and time (seconds) on the "x-axis"

Good luck
