I am working on the process for build of a product that will have a 150 pin AMP PCMCIA connector on the bottom side of the laminate. I am trying to get a selective solder pallet to protect the connector through wave. If this doesn't work I will need to do a post wave assembly process for the connector. Looking for recommendations...Not going through wave in not an option. Pin and Paste for the through hole is not an option either.

Help,

Kevin

Check out out hot bar equipment, we used to do this with very good results. I am sorry that I can't remember the manufacturer to help you check into this. If you are not familiar with this here is the process in a nutshell, place assy and connector on "fixture" and apply flux. The unit has a heated bar that automatically comes done for a set duration heating the connector pins and board. This had a pretty quick cycle time 12-15 secs an assy.

one more thing, have you checked out the ability to just hand solder by drag technique? This can be the fastest easiest way sometimes.
