240v A/C playstation to run from 12v D/C battery | 26 September, 2002

i Know its possible cus i read that it has been done by several people but i am after finding out how to do it for myself.

I want to wire up a playstation to (hopefully) a DC jack so when i need 240V A/c to use it i can simply plug it in and likewise for the D/C (but not at same time :-)) i Have found out that there are two differnt voltage feeds to the system 1@ 7.5V and 1@ 3.5v but i need to know how to connect up the jack plug to the psx.

would it simply be a case of finding the voltage that has been "transformed" from the A/C power supply, and then wiring up a connection to the D/C side of the transformer and supplying the correct voltage via the 12v battery and voltage selector?

This seems perfectly logical to me (however you might have guessed that i have little idea on electronics).

Thanks for taking the trouble to look at this request and i appreciate all your help and advice

Mustard - I would like to suggest you search a more appropriate site for your answer. Maybe a gamers chat room would be helpful. Good luck
