MyData Vs. Samsung?

MyData Vs. Samsung? | 22 May, 2002

Does anyone have any input on the CP20CV(samsung) and the MY9 with Hydra Head? i would prefer input from someone who has owned both.

we are a high mix, low to mid volume contract manufacturer who sees value in both machines. we need to make a choice, but are very concerned about the reliability of the MYDATA? Everyone we've talked with says they require a lot of service.

we are buying one of one or the other, and it will be our main machine, so reliability and flexibility are CRITICAL, along with ability to place wide assortments of parts?

am making decision today, 05/22/02.

I cannot tell you about the MY-9's , but we have had a MY-12 machine w/i hydra for about two years. We run it pretty steadily on three shifts including a weekend shift. It is a very reliable machine, BUT it is very picky about maintenace. You need to make sure that whom ever is doing the maintenance on the machine knows what they are doing.

Programming is very easy, software is simple and user friendly. I am sorry I don't have any experience with Samsung machines.

We currently have two samsung CP20 CVs unfortunately I have no experience with the MyDatas

The Samsungs are pretty good machines, They seem to be pretty solid all around but have experienced placement problems with 216 pin 16mil pitch QFP.

The software can be a little tricky with the CP20 when you need to make changes on the fly regarding the comp. lib. You have to delete the part from one package put it into another reinitialize it into the part libray for the program and then you're good to go. I personally am used to much simpler one "screen" changes.

you might want to look at the CP40 since I believe that it has better software, three heads and things like that.

What type of parts are you putting down?
