Anyone using Kester 959 flux on Spray fluxer ? I noticed a black coating on filter element which is installed in supply line ( inside flux tank). The filter element is immersed into flux tank. It is turning blackish due to deposit of flux rosin ?? This is causing air bubbles into supply line affecting functioning of spray nozzle. The color of the filter element getting darker with usage and spray gets worsen with time. Anyone who had faced and found the solution to this problem.

I have contacted Kester as well to investigate. Just in case , any SMTnetter has found solution to this problem ?

Ashok, a few suggestions.......steel/brass fittings anywhere in the flux line can cause that problem; also, check the transfer tank (if used) for cleanliness . There may be a problem with the pump, if you are using Sono-Tek's SonoFlux system then please call me 845 795 2020 ext 128. Thanks, Claudine Corda

We used no clean flux and experience the little filter in the flux tank going black. How long until it goes black? Could the pump be damaged, or you may have to start changing the filter regularily
