Squeegee side-deflector

I am operating MPM AP HiE. The squeegee was just repaced with metal blade, side plastic deflectors(with spring) at both ends. The engineering dept suggested that we level the squeegee with the plastic deflector up. Afterwards, we loosen the screw and let the deflectors pushed down by the spring. Now the side deflectors can move up and down (spring action). In this position, it is about 3 mm lower than the blade. We got bad result, not wiping properly. Should I lower the plastic deflectors so that it is about 2 mm above the blade, and lock them. Thank you, waiting response, thx. Herman
