SUPPLIERS SMT | 27 January, 1998

I am just implementing a Statistical Process Control to the SMD. A few simple questions: 1. Is it necessary to perform a sampling plan for suppliers inspection? 2. What are the basical points to control ourself and inspection at a supplier? I mean the regular inspection (solderability, warp...), not the evaluation of the supplier. I would appreciate any help Thanks

Still asking: does anybody know about any standards about transformers? material, tolerances, etc. thanks again

New components from a OEM, generaly will not require inspection. On the other hand if you are recieving components from brokers, Tape and Reel house, or any unknown source then solderability and inspection (coplanaity, bend leads, and polarity) might be a good idea. Hope this help good day Mike
