March 31, 1998-Austin, TX --- Austin American Technology announces a new Pre-Wash feature for the Mega� II to operate in conjunction with AAT's patented closed-loop regenerative cleaning process. This feature allows for an optional dual chemistry cleaning process that dramatically increases throughput capabilities and decreases periodic maintenance requirements and operating costs. The Pre-Wash feature permits dual chemistry cleaning, including DI water, organic solvents and alcohols, thus providing more diversified cleaning alternatives without damaging its patented resin bed filtration system. Periodic maintenance decreases through the use of the Pre-Wash Option by reducing the amount of contaminates entering the IAC (Ionic Absorption Chamber). The Mega� II is used for de-fluxing PWBs, precision cleaning for pre-wire bonding applications and pre-conformal coating, as well as tight-tolerance cleaning under flip chip and post ball attachment cleaning of BGAs. The Pre-Wash feature has extended the Mega� II's capabilities to include the removal of silicones, oils and salts in precision metal cleaning. The fully automated cleaner comes with precision process control, data logging and ultrasonic capabilities with applications in critical metal parts cleaning. A password feature is also included to prevent unauthorized operator interference-thus giving the customer control and safety while providing superior closed loop cleaning. The Mega� II is a high reliability cleaning process that is environmentally sound and easy to operate. The Mega II features a small footprint and ultra fast, fully automatic wash/rinse and dry cycles. Ultrasonic assist is available in conjunction with the Pre-Wash option.
