Re: SMT training classes | 5 May, 1998

Good luck, I would advise you to contact the National Training Center for Microelectronics in Bethlehem, PA. They have actual courses in all aspects of SMT assembly and they are reasonable. As far as equipment for startup, I would look for used if you will out grow this equipment in a year or two, otherwise remember "You get what you pay for" and there is a lot of junk out there,

Re: SMT training classes and start up equipment | 23 June, 1998

You have addressed two separate issues. We are stencil printer manufacturers and equipment choices can be a real tricky and frustrating proposition if not prepared with training and understanding of the process first. I would heartily encourage you to contact EMPF (operated by the Ameican Competitiveness Institute) at 714 N. Senate Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Call their helpline at (317) 655-3688 or contact via email at helpline@empf.org. They have complete manufacturing lines up and offer training courses working hands on the equipment. This is the best option I can suggest for someone starting into this business. It all seems so simple but really is very complex. If I can be of further help, email me. | We are just starting out with SMT. I need any and all the information you have. We are looking to start a small to mid range line.
