If the flashing really bothers you that much...With Netscape, Right click on the page and choose stop. If I remember right, it should be the same for IE. or you could always just disable JAVA. -Ben

Re: Banner | 16 July, 1998

Mr. Kooki, We have been considering many options in displaying the banner ads,and using Java seems to produce the best results so far. Java has been known to be inconsistent across different browsers. We do need feedback on what is not pleasing or working properly in order to change or modify the current arrangement or style. For example, we were hoping that the "swipe" effects would make the ads more interesting. Let me know if that is what you mean by "flashing". If anyone has any opinions on the new banner, please let us know. But in order to gauge your opinion properly we need to know what browser and release number of the browser you are using, along with what your machine is, and how much RAM your machine has. With the above information we can make changes to the current system so we can best accommodate you. Yes, we do need to have the advertisements in order to fund development into our new ideas and enhancements. We also believe that the ads provide useful information to the viewer. The bottom line is that the advertisements are aimed at you, so we need your input to provide these ads in the best manner we can. Thanks, Cliff

Cliff: Sure that the banner bothers someut not all. I for one understand the need to advertize and can live with flashing, blinking, or whatever else comes our way. Feel it would also be helpful if people used there proper name when addressing issues on the forum. Wayne
