SMT Equipment | 29 August, 1998

Hello all! My name is Mike Cannon and I'm a small business owner looking at some of the SMT equipment today. I've been interested in Sanyo chipshooters due to the cost, but I'm not sure if it's the right decision. I've been on chipshooters.com (my first try to find SMT equipment), but it appears that they are just starting up. Does anybody have any concerns about the sanyo chipshooter? Thanks. Mike.

We own two Sanyo chipshooters (TCM-1600 & TCM-3500), and our experience w/ this equipment has been very positive. Contact me w/ any specific questions. | Hello all! Mike FYI SANYO chipshooters are sold/serviced worldwide through two sources; Nissei Sangyo Trading Co. (which is a division of Hitachi), and Universal Instruments Corp (http//www.uic.com). Contrary to popular belief, SANYO High-Technology Co., Ltd. does not have a direct sales/service force outside of Japan. Check out our website for more info on the chip shooters. And please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions. Regards John Coogan HSP Business Mgr Universal Instruments Corp

Re: SMT Equipment/ a better idea | 2 September, 1998

Mike, I tried to email you but your address is NG. I have a better idea, faster, more flexible, more accurate, less expensive, with a larger install base worldwide than Sanyo. Mike, Check out the Philips website at www.philips-ia.com and look at the FCM and the GEM Sapphire. The Sanyo/Universal is a fine chipshooter, but the Philips FCM is unmatched in pure speed, cost per placement and cost per square foot. If the Sanyo/UIC type machine will handle your volumes o.k. then perhaps the GEM Sapphire is right for you. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. =JR=

I used to sell one of the other very well known competitors and was amazed at Sanyo when I saw it. Good Luck, If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at: 512-892-3252 or 972-831-9700.
