Wet vs. Dry paste volume? | 28 October, 1998

Can anyone supply me with info on determining the volume of paste left on a pad once reflowed compared to the intial amount put down? Is there a formula or something?

Is there a formula or something? | That information should be contained in the technical data sheets supplied by the paste manufacturer. We use Indium NC92. Standard mesh of 325/500. The post reflow volume is around 55% of the non-reflowed volume.

The post reflow volume is around 55% of the non-reflowed volume. | | cm | Contact your paste manufacturer. They run between 45 -55 %. If you're looking to do a quick calc, use 50% for any paste and you'll be close.
