electronics assembly clip art | 20 March, 1999

I am looking for clip art images of electronics assembly. Images like wave soldering, surface mount components, soldering irons... just general assembly graphics. Many sites have different individual images that they use I was just wondering if anyone has seen a collection of these types of images.

thanks

Hi Greg!

There's a lot of individual images out there, I've not seen many collections all together. Topline components has a cdrom they sell...but it's pretty basic.

You know, as long as you have a image editor (like PaintShop Pro) people don't mind that you use the art on their web pages as long as it's not going to be used for such things as massing together a bunch of images and putting them on a cdrom and then selling it. All you need to do is just drop a email and ask, 99% of the time they'll tell ya' no problem. Most of the time you can even use the art on your own web page as long you provide a link to their page.

So use a search engine like DogPile( http://www.dogpile.com ) an go searching for some images. Right click over the image of something you like and do a "save as", and you got something you can paste into a document or whatever.

A good digital camera is really nice to have, and they're getting cheap enough that you can buy a decent high resolution one for anywhere from $400-500. A picture is worth a thousand words, especially when it comes to production process documents!

1 Some mid-sized contactors show pictures of their machines on their sites. 2 Equipment manufacturers' sites. 3 Component suppliers' sites. 4 Some universities have assembly labs that have pictures on their sites. 5 Used equipment sellers' and auction house sites.

Hey, if you find some good stuff, post it here!!!

Each has 100 clip art images of general assembly parts and processes. Their part numbers are: IPC-CD-A1 (This is more of the assembly graphics) IPC-CD-B1 (This one deals more with PCB fabrication graphics)
