About PCB assembly process

Hi everyone. My name is Martin Benites from LIma, Peru. I am actually working on a project for automate PCB assembly process in our industry. Actual process is hand-based, thus our startpoint is zero equipment. I have already asked some companies for info on their products, but i realize i had some wrong concepts about types of equipment needed and the process flow. THus my question is: Where could i find technical information in order to clarify my ideas about the entire SMT process and the types of equipments involved?. Or maybe, if someone could help me sending this information: tutorials, book references, urls.
