IPC Standards and ISO 9000 | 6 December, 2000

I am the operations/production manager for a small contract manufactuer. I have recently taken the position with this company as well. I am searching for IPC Standards and info on ISO 9000 certification. I'm finding bits and pieces all over the place, but no solid source. Anyone have a clue where I might get this information?

Ralph-

Good thing you found this website so early on in your CM worklife. I am guessing you knew the job was dangerous when you took it. Be sure to refer back here daily, you will learn a mountain of things in a short time. The library also has a vast amount of information that you can search through. It would be good to attempt the search first before posting a question.

By the way, there are some regulars at this website who share some valuable and wise information, based on their experiences. You will soon recognize their names, Dave F. is "Mr. Wizard" in my book, but occasionally he gets a bit silly, kinda like Prof. Whoopee, which helps break the monotony. If you know the answer to the question "Who is Dynamo Hum", you are already an unqualified expert!!!

Does "Dinah-Moe Humm" mean instant disqualification?

Have you tried contacting your locat MEP (Manufacturer's Extension Partnership)? Here in New England at least they have a good reputation and I have personally found them to be a great resource. Use the link below to get to their national site - there you can find the contact info for their local office.

The only instant disqualification I know of is when you are caught wearing a Sears Poncho instead of the genuine article. If not sure of the difference, get Camarillo Brillo to through a Tarot to find out.

If disqualified, suggest moving to Montana, starting a ranch and becoming a dental floss tycoon....wax it up and put it in a little box to sell downtown.....got to be less stress.

On the more serious side I would like to thank the Wizard and all the other regular contributors of all their help. Maybe when I become more confident I will do more than read daily...:)
