high temp gasket

Looking for help in finding suitable high temp gasket for use in smt assy support application.

Gasket used to restrain flex on smt module in area prone to localized heating due to nearby device removal (hot air).

Current gasket mtl (neoprene) degrading under temp excursion and possibly cleaning fluids (std aqueous process) of rework operations. Est localized temp ~240C.

Gasket mtl required to be soft, non degraded by assy rework temps and typical cleaning fluids.

Any thoughts on suitable gasket mtl for this application?

Thanks, pbb

In the rubber area try Viton or silicone rubber, both rated at 500 degrees. In the plastic area there is teflon @ 500 degrees and kapton (polyimide) @ 572 degrees. In the traditional compressable sheet gasket area are kevlar and aramid fibre types @ 700+. Why don't you browse your McMaster-Carr catalog. There is a wealth of materials and application advice. Hhope this helps.
