| We have a new facility for producing M/B, RAM modules...etc | what kind of ICT Machines do you recommend provided that. | We have Philips (Topaz & Emerald) for Pick &Place. | Also identify what kind of testing do you recommend during the process | Thanks for all of you | Hunter | Defining a test strategy is difficult. What is your desired end result? If you have a good process then the ICT will only point out your marginal components (ie: R1 out of tolerance by 10%) that is more affected by surrounding circuitry. You wind up swapping good components 80% of the time. ICT is good if you have a lot of change overs, new products, or a lousy process.
If you're focusing on a large volume, small product mix then you may want to look at a good functional tester dedicated to memory products. If the unit fails functional test then you may want to back up to ICT to facilitate troubleshooting due to poor functional diagnostics (an industry wide problem, hince the popularity of ICT).
Both have thier merits and drawbacks but you want to decide what you want to ship out your door. Remember, ICT only verifies you've put the parts on correctly; not that it's functional.
I'd be glad to discuss this with you further, send an e-mail.
Cheers, Scott
